Capitola is located about 5 miles east of Santa Cruz on the coast of California. This small city looks out over the Soquel Cove. The beaches here are perfect for enjoying a day near the water. Hooper Beach and Capitola Beach are in the western part of town by the Soquel Creek. A large pier in town extends out over the water and is an ideal spot for fishing or watching the boats float across the bay. Local businesses rent out fishing gear and boats for those who wan to go for the “big one” off shore. On the eastern side of town is the New Brighton State Beach. Here clamming and surf fishing are very popular. For a good day hike through the countryside head down to the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park. To the west is Santa Cruz and its famous Beach Boardwalk. The boardwalk is an amusement park from back in time and includes rides, arcades, shops and restaurants. For the golfers in your party miniature golf and full size golf courses are located nearby. With all the activities available in and around town, Capitola lends itself to being the perfect spot for your vacation in California. The Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY, 30miles) is the closest airport to the area. |
