Cayucos is a small seaside village along California’s Big Sur Coast. The cottages and vacation homes here look out over the Estero Bay and are backed by green rolling hills. The beach here is perfect for building sand castles and exploring the twisted driftwood brought in by the tides. The Cayucos Pier extends out over the bay to give anglers a great place to cast from. You will often see starfish and sea anemones attached to its pillars. To the north and south of the beach there are tidepools to explore and rocks to climb. The main street of Cayucos is a small maze of antique stores and quaint boutiques. After a gourmet dinner, walk out on the end of the pier and watch as the sun sinks into the Pacific Ocean. Kayak classes are available for those who want to learn something new and get out on the water. Deep sea fishing charters and whale watching tours can be arranged in nearby Morro Bay. Morro Bay also has the closest golf course and hosts a large Museum of Natural History. The famous Hearst Castle is also nearby and is the perfect destination for a great day trip. The activities here and around Cayucos lend themselves to relaxation and fun. Regardless of what you choose, your vacation will be one to remember. San Luis Obispo hosts the nearest airport, the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SLO, 18miles). |
