Lake Nacimiento is located about 77 miles north from Santa Maria in the southern end of the Santa Lucia mountain range in California. Beautifully set in the mountains, this lake is a wonderful destination for those who love the outdoors. The whole area promotes rest and relaxation. The lake itself is a wonderful fishing lake. With dozens of inlets around the lake and a large outlet to the west, there are many fishing holes to try out. Not planning on bringing your boat along? Not a problem. The local marinas have many different kinds of boats and equipment to fulfill your needs, from pontoons to ski boats. The forest around the lake contains many hiking trails ranging from an easy afternoon walk to full day treks along the peaks. Horseback riding trails may also be found among the hills and have gorgeous views of the lake below. Best of all, after enjoying the day out on the water and in the hills you can rest and enjoy your vacation cottage, without the noises of a big tourist spot. The Santa Maria Airport (SMX, 80miles) is the closest airport to Lake Nacimiento.
