Mammoth Lakes is a spectacular alpine retreat, complete with one of the best ski resorts in the world and dozens of activities for all seasons. The summer is a wonderful time to visit this region, especially if you enjoy the outdoors. Horseback riding is also popular in the summer months. And there is always a challenge awaiting any level of golfer at the Snowcreek Golf Course in town. For the anglers, there are plenty of backcountry fly-fishing guides who will lead you to those hidden trout holes. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders alike flock from all over the world to visit Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. This is one of the premier ski slopes in the country. In addition to the 150 trails and 30 lifts for downhill skiing there is a large cross-country center for those who like to blaze their own trails. For non-skiers there are snowmobiles for rent, snowshoeing, and sleigh rides available. If you are not interested in any of these activities, consider coming to Mammoth Lakes in the fall and spring.
