Pebble Beach is located on the southern end of the Monterey Peninsula just north of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This spectacular golfing facility is a vacation destination for thousands of tourists each year. The 17-Mile Drive is one of the most famous attractions here. For $8 you can enter the drive and see some of the most amazing coastal real estate in California. Other highlights along the drive are the Seal and Bird Rocks and the Lone Cypress. The golf course is immaculate and challenging. However, if you can not get a tee time at Pebble Beach, do not fret. There are dozens of other championship level golf courses around the Monterey Peninsula such as, Poppy Hills, The Links at Spanish Bay, and Spyglass Hill Golf Course. Though Pebble Beach has its own golf shops and souvenir stores, it may be a good idea to pop down into Carmel-by-the-Sea and do a little shopping along its downtown streets. Carmel is also the nearest place to hit the beach. The Carmel Beach City Park is an excellent place to spend the afternoon. Other attractions in the Pebble Beach area include the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and Monterey’s own wine country. There are also many day spas in the area where you can rest and relax as they remove your stress. At the end of the day you can retire happily to your vacation home in Pebble Beach. The closest airports to Pebble Beach are the Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY, 8miles) and the San Jose International Airport (SJC, 60miles). |
