Pinecrest is a small alpine village in the Sierra Nevada’s, about 63 miles east of Oakdale, California. This small town is built around Pinecrest Lake. The beautiful national forests and mountains that surround Pinecrest are inviting and a good escape from the busy city. Pinecrest Lake and the nearby Beardley Reservoir provide much of the summer entertainment. The mountains provide excellent trout fishing for both fly-fishing and regular fishing. Dozens of hiking trails line the mountainsides. Mountain biking is also popular here. Yosemite is only an hour and a half drive from Pinecrest. There you can experience some amazing rock climbing and hiking. In the winter, Pinecrest turns into a small hub for skiers and snowboarders. The town is situated right below the local ski mountain. Probably the best thing you can do with your time here is to sit down next to a cozy fireplace and enjoy a good book. Whatever you choose to do in Pinecrest, your vacation is sure to be fun and relaxing. The closest airport to Pinecrest is the Modesto City – County Airport (MOD, 80miles). |
