Sea Ranch is located about 100 miles north of San Francisco on the coast of California. This beautiful seaside community is the perfect place to visit for rest and relaxation. The cliffs and rock formations made by the pounding waves of the Pacific Ocean are among the most spectacular along the coastline. One of the favorite local pastimes is to go exploring in the tide pools created by the rocks. Shelling is also quite popular along the sandy shoals. Another great way to see the cliffs is by sea kayak. For those of us more comfortable on gentle water, the nearby Gualala River provides safe and calm waters for kayaking and canoeing. To experience even more of the outdoors rent a bicycle. Many bike paths and trails may be found in the forests surrounding Sea Ranch. The Sea Ranch Golf Course is right next to the ocean and has many challenging and well kept holes. Looking for an activity on the rare rainy day? The Point Arena Lighthouse and Museum offers tours and is open daily to the public. Sea Ranch also has its fair share of boutique shopping and dining. If you are really interested in finding a unique piece of artwork, head north to Mendocino for the day and enjoy walking around this artist colony. At the end of the day, enjoy watching the sunset over the ocean while you relax in your own vacation cottage by the sea. The closest airports to Sea Ranch are the Sonoma County Airport (STS, 50miles) and the San Francisco International Airport (SFO, 105miles). |
