Oceanside is a small waterfront community located about 38 miles north from San Diego, California. This section of the California coastline is knows for having warm weather, sandy beaches, and excellent surfing. Oceanside is in a unique location along this coast. It is right between San Diego and the Orange Coast. This makes it the perfect place to spend a vacation if you are interested in seeing some of the main attractions in the big cities such as Disneyland, the San Diego Zoo, and the Palomar Observatory. However, this doesn’t mean you have to spend the day away from Oceanside to have fun. Oceanside boasts a large stretch of beach along the Pacific Ocean. The central focus of the beach is around the pier just off Rotary Park near downtown. Nearby inlets on the north side of town are perfect for protecting boats from the ocean waves. Marinas in the area offer boat rentals and stores along the beach will help you get set up for a day on the sand. Charter fishing trips are also available for a wide variety of fish. Golfers will enjoy the challenges presented by the golf courses in town and kids will love a trip just south to Legoland in Carlsbad. Oceanside has a bit of everything for everyone.
