Clearlake is a wonderful town located on the southern tip of Clear Lake about 50 miles north of Santa Rosa, California. The Coast Range mountains surround Clearlake and provide miles of hiking trails along their ridges and saddles. The lake is a beautiful deep blue and is perfect for fishing, boating, swimming and all other water activities. Power boat and other watercraft rentals are available on the lake. Mountain lakes are a perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet. Clearlake is no exception. The gentle lapping of the waves and the occasional breeze off the lake make this one of the most relaxing places in the state. However, for those of you looking for adventure, check out some of the nearby jeep trails that are great for off road motorcycles and 4x4 vehicles. While out and about visit the rivers around Clearlake. They are great locations for fly fishing or viewing wildlife. The town has plenty of shopping and dining and even has a small park on the water’s edge. This tranquil lake in the mountains of northern California will be a great escape. Santa Rosa has the nearest airport, the Sonoma County Airport (STS, 50miles).
