Indian Wells is a beautiful oasis town about 15 miles southeast of Palm Springs, California. This “desert sanctuary” is surrounded by the Santa Rosa Mountains and swaying palm trees. The two most popular activities aside from relaxing in Indian Wells are golfing and playing tennis. The golf courses here are challenging and with the aforementioned backdrop of mountains are pleasing to the eye as well as the club. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden, which hosts the Pacific Life Open each year, is an ideal place to visit. Other year round activities in the area include hiking, biking and tours of the nearby Joshua Tree National Park. Art galleries and unique retail stores spread between the fine dining and casual cafes in Indian Wells. Those interested in the history of and recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor will want to visit the Eisenhower Walk of Honor just south of the city hall. Make sure to take time for yourself and rejuvenate at one of the local spas in Indian Wells. A nice relaxing massage will prepare you for another great day.
