Laguna Beach is located about 11 miles southeast from Newport Beach on Orange County’s coastline. With over 6 miles of beaches, tide pools, and bluffs, Laguna Beach is an excellent place to vacation. Main Beach Park is located in front of the downtown area. This beach has a large boardwalk and a pathway to Heisler Park where there is a large marine and tide pool reserve area. Remember to be careful where you step. Most everything in and around the tide pools is a living plant or animal. The waves sent into Laguna Beach from the Pacific Ocean are just the right size for both beginning and advanced surfers. Snorkeling at Diver’s Cove and watching sea lions in the bays are also common activities down at the shoreline. The Coast Highway is a popular destination for antiquing and shopping due to the unique and fun boutiques and stores found along the stretch. To the north of town, back in the hills, is the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. This park is a well-preserved natural landscape with many hiking and biking trails. Other popular activities inland from the beach include tennis, golf, theater, and horseback riding. After a fun day on the beach and walking around town, take some time to relax at one of the extraordinary spas in Laguna Beach. After a vacation here you will feel rested, relaxed and ready to take on life again! The John Wayne – Orange County Airport (SNA, 15miles) in nearby Santa Ana is the closest airport to Laguna Beach. |
