Homewood is located on the western shores of Lake Tahoe in California. This little alpine village rests at the base of Homewood Ski Resort. Lake Tahoe is known as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The crystal clear water and the mountains that surround this lake make it very attractive as a home for some and a vacation site for many more. Activities are almost boundless at any time of year around Homewood. The mountains are crisscrossed with dozens of hiking and mountain biking trails. Horseback rides are available on some of these mountain trails as well. For those who don’t necessarily enjoy going up the mountainsides but love to ride bikes, there are many sections of paved pathways around Lake Tahoe. Shopping is a year round activity here. The small villages around the lake each have their own style and are quite fun to walk around in while shopping. Come wintertime the snow brings the skiers to the mountains. Nordic ski centers open their doors and will help you stay on your feet and ski instructors will do the same on the mountain slopes. After enjoying that long day on the slopes you will be able to rest and relax at your own vacation cottage and get ready for another exciting day. The Lake Tahoe Airport (TVL, 30miles) and the Reno – Tahoe International Airport (RNO, 50miles) are the closest airports to Homewood.
