Los Angeles is located in southern California, and is surrounded by dozens of popular attractions and beaches. Los Angeles and its surrounding suburbs sprawl out over a large portion of southern California. The western side of the city is the most popular for vacationers as it is quite close to the beaches and areas such as Santa Monica, Hollywood, and Hermosa Beach. However, there are plenty of activities available no matter where you stay in Los Angeles. To the east is Anaheim, known for being the home of Disneyland, USA. To the south is a large group of beaches along the San Pedro Channel. But, the closest beaches to the city are the Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beaches. These are excellent beaches if you want to get a little sun, do some surfing or play a game of volleyball. To the northwest of Los Angeles is Santa Monica, where you will find plenty of fun shopping stores and boutiques. The Los Angeles area boasts dozens of museums such as the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits. Each museum is unique and worth checking out, especially on a rare cool day. If you don’t want to head to Disneyland, but are interested in a few rides, check out Six Flags California in Valencia or Universal Studios Hollywood. Los Angeles also has multiple professional sporting teams, and fantastic golfing and tennis facilities. On top of all this there are many more attractions not listed.
